The story
behind the design.

An imaginative tale from Sages Of The Past.

When Mira first moved to the city, she missed the stars. She’d been a backyard astronomer since she was old enough to tug her father’s jacket and point to silvery arcs racing above their rural home. Nights in the metropolis were blotted by the amber haze of streetlights—no milk-white ribbon crossing the sky, no sudden exclamations of “Look!” as another meteor traced a wish through the velvet dark.

Her apartment was small and utilitarian, but she carved a sanctuary out of it atop her desk. Here, among technology and tangled cords, she laid out her own piece of the universe: a sprawling desk mat alive with cosmic meteor showers. Each evening, the lamp’s glow spilled across the painted sky—brushstrokes of indigo and coral, shooting stars frozen mid-flight, a memory of boundless possibility beneath her fingertips.

When Mira gamed late into the night or drafted another chapter of her sci-fi novel, she let her hand drift across the smooth expanse. She imagined herself a space pilot, charting through the asteroid belts, racing along the stardust trails of cosmic travelers. Eerie nebulae bloomed along the horizon of her workspace, and sometimes a comet blazed triumphant and singular, igniting her pulse and sparking an idea.

“Your desk looks like a portal,” her neighbor joked one morning, eyes wide behind round glasses as he caught the mesmerizing edge of a golden meteor burning through the mat. “Doesn’t it distract you?”

“Not at all,” Mira grinned. “It reminds me to look up.”

And so the city faded away—above the clamor, beyond the monotone skyline, her imagination streaked outward in brilliant plumes, casting shadows where planets spun and possibilities exploded in constellations she charted herself. Even in that small, lit room, surrounded by the hum of electronics and the endless list of to-dos, Mira could find the secret pulse of the cosmos—right beneath her hands, with every glide and click.
